Information on the village of Sprouston, near Kelso in Scotland.
P6 and P7 went to Kelso to do curling at the ice-rink we played against all diffrent schools. We won quite a lot but one team in Sprouston came 5th and the other team came 6th. We used the white, blue and yellow stones. Before the competition we had 3 practices, once a week. Everyone enjoyed it and in the competition it got really nerveracking. On Tuesday we went on a school trip to Glasgow Science Centre. There were three floors there. We went into the planetarium to see all different things, we found out that there are star signs in the sky. We also went to see the 'sparks show' all about electricity. Primary 6 and 7's all went to Dalguise with Ednam Primary School for a school trip. The journey seemed as if it took forever but it only took 2 hours. There were lots of people singing and on the way we went to 'Linlithgow Palace' which was alright. Primary 4-7s went Morebattle Primary school. The p6 and 7s played the first match and lost 2-1, all goals coming from Morebattle, including an own goal. We then had another match played by p4s and 5s and lost 3-2, goals coming from the Sprouston legends Vikki and Hannah. Firstly, all the prizes were presented by Mrs Dodds and after that p 1 to 3 did their play of Bella no Buzz. Then p 6 and 7 sang 'Both sides of the Tweed' created by 'Kelso High School Celtic group. Then p 4 to 5 played the recorder then p3 to 5 sang 'Princess and the Pea.' Then the drama class performed. Amy Nichol and Joanna Allan won the 'DUX Cup' jointly. T ... [more]

23 pupils of the school went to Croft Park, Kelso to play rugby with another 6 primary schools in the Kelso area. All 350 pupils were put into mixed teams and played 4 matches each. Joanna Allan won best player on her pitch and won a rugby ball. I (Clare) scored 1 try and Liam scored 9 tries. It was a really fun day and we missed half a day of school. At this farm there are lots of cows, the types of cows were Aberdeen Angus and ......., pigs called Poppy and Pansy, chickens, horses, dogs, guinea-pigs. Most of these were pets including the pigs. MOUNTAIN BIKES Gary took us and we went down a big hill and we went down past the challenge course and zip wire and through PGL center. At the end we went up the big hill and I raced Gary and I won because his bike broke down. Hardly any of us got up the hill with out stopping. JOANNA P7 ... [more]

Zip wire The zip wire was 30 foot off the ground and you had to put on two harnesses one for the top and one for your waist and your legs. You had to walk up a big hill and you when you where up there you put on Mr flip flop and Mr penguin and then you got checked that all of the metal things were on right.
