Sprouston Primary has had a successful and enjoyable term.
The weather stayed fair for all but one event which has been postponed until August when P1-3 will visit the Deer Park. The nursery visited Floors Castle Gardens and P4-7 went to the Glasgow Science Museum for a ‘hands-on’ experience of a huge range of activities. It was a long but rewarding day and definitely worth repeating!

Our ‘health week’ focussed attention on healthy food; many forms of exercise; and surveying the health of the school grounds with Mr. Robeson (Countryside Ranger).

Mrs. Lynn Young (Active Sports Co-ordinator) co-ordinated the whole event, with mass aerobics and hip hop dance with Mrs. Glasgow, culminating in the School Sports which included potted sports and aerobics.
P6 children have been trained by Mrs. Young to help organise games with younger pupils. They will be official P1 buddies when school returns and will help with games during interval times.

Mrs. Dodds presented the prizes at the end of term concert and prizegiving. Joanna Allan and Amy Nicol were joint Dux. The entertainment included “Bella no Buzz”, “Dreams and Nightmares” and “The Princess & The Pea” accompanied by Ms. Stark’s fledgling Brass Band.

Next term we will have guitar lessons with Ross Milligan for pupils in P3-6 as well as the brass band and recorder tuition!
Pupils have started putting school news & photos into the Sprouston website (see over page) under “Sprouston Primary Showcase” Any feedback will be welcomed.

Changes in staffing:
Mrs. Dodds our PE specialist will no longer be with us next term. After 20 years at Sprouston we will miss her.
Mrs. Campbell is now full time at Broomlands so we shall have a new teacher 2 mornings a week.
We are pleased that Mrs. Roberts is recovering from her op. and should be back with Mrs. Abbot after the summer break.
We wish all our P7 pupils well at High School
